Review Summary for Humberto Roda
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of buildings managed by Humberto Roda reveal a well-maintained, clean environment with responsive live-in supers who attend repairs promptly. Tenants appreciate quiet streets, good heating, pest control, and amenities like elevators and in-building laundry. However, some concerns include inconsistent water pressure, occasional package theft, sketchy or less responsive management, and a tenant mix that sometimes leads to noise issues. Reports suggest a need for improved owner ethics, management transparency, and enhanced responsiveness, especially with new administration changes. Overall, residents find the buildings livable and generally recommend them, valuing the upkeep and helpful staff despite some management shortcomings.

Great place, horrible landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, neighborhood, size
Cons:
Full of undergrads since COVID and they like to throw parties. Landlord is a scumbag with a track record of illegal activity to intimidate and evict tenants. Owner uses multiple company names but Castellan Real Estate is the owner and manager. https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-real-estate-group-forces-tenants-jacks-rent-article-1.2153178
Advice to owner:
Give Umberto a raise and grow some ethics.

Great pre-war building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean, great live-in super that speaks spanish, in-building laundry, elevator.

Uneven floors and bad drainage, building was sold last year and new owner/administration is not as responsive.
Advice to owner:
Increase resposiveness. Mail and packages were frequently stolen.
