Nice place to live if you can afford it
Pros
Management is not bad. Every request I sent in to have something fixed, they send someone to investigate the issue in a timely manner. Although some of my emails inquiring about certain things about the building go unanswered. Building is usually nice and clean (stairs are a bit rundown though but most people take the elevators). I've had one noise complaint during the 6 years I've lived here. Upstairs neighbor was running on the treadmill at like 8:00 in the morning. Package room is open 7 days a week for about 12 hours (shorter hours Sundays). Management sometimes will occasionally hold events in the building that everyone can attend for free that usually include some activity and/or free food. The building also has a bar if you're into that. What I like most about the building though is the location. You are very close to a lot of supermarkets which is great for me because I like to cook. You are a few minutes walk away from the 2,3,4,5,J,and Z subway stations. South Street Seaport is just a few blocks away
Cons
Some appliances in my unit needs some maintenance or upgrading as I can't properly set my A/C temp without doing it in some hacky way and my freezer is leaking water which builds up ice on the bottom. There can be frequent water maintenance where you can't use the water for a certain amount of time. Management does send you an email days in advance which is nice but I feel like it's happening bimonthly now. Amenities cost about $80 per month but I never use it. I don't see this as a con but I thought I'd mention it here. You can hear your neighbors if they talk loudly and it is quiet in your apartment.
Great building, great location, a few things to know
Pros
Beautiful building with really nice common areas and amenities. The staff are friendly and genuinely make living here better. Maintenance is responsive and gets things handled quickly. The location in FiDi is hard to beat, super accessible and close to everything. Neighbors have been great and the building has a good community feel overall.
Cons
Heat has been inconsistent, which is noticeable in winter. The elevators are a known issue with sometimes only two working for the whole building, so waits can happen during peak times. Also on the pricier side for the square footage compared to other buildings nearby.
