Great living experience, no major issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is wonderful. Clean, no issues with pests, attentive staff, nice lobby, spacious rooms.
Cons:
Not the most helpful/responsive management, 8th avenue can be a bit loud/chaotic to live up against
Advice to owner:
Nothing—great experience overall

Great Building In Chelsea
Former Tenant
Pros:
Overall a great building. Everyone working in the building (doormen, super and porters) are amazing.
Cons:
AC could be better.

Good building, well maintained
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean, well-maintained. Super Miguel really cares and is very responsive when issues come up. Currently doing construction on lobby and facade to upgrade. I've never seen a rat or cockroach in 3 years of living here.
Cons:
Heat / air systems in some units are old and don't work well. Not enough laundry machines for all the residents in the building + 2 adjacent buildings.

It’s a decent place
Former Tenant
Pros:
The heat is AMAZING! I don’t have an issue keeping warm durning the winter.
Cons:
When I first moved in there were a few roaches that I did come across dead and alive. Not sure how the previous renter lived, but it was concerning because I wasn’t sure if this was gonna be an issue throughout me living here. After being here for 3yrs, IT’S DEFINITELY AN ISSUE. Apparently the exterminator only comes once a month, and I had to mediate the situation myself. Even when I am going to the laundry room, I’ll see a few roaches on the wall, so it’s definitely the whole building. My neighbors above are VERY noisy with loud bumps, heavy foot steps during the day and night. I have been woken up at 5 am before and have heard people out in the hallway having very loud conversations late at night, arguments and a few fights. But you get what you get what you pay for, I guess.
Advice to owner:
An exterminator needs to be on call once a week or something.

Cons:
Occasionally cockroaches, but exterminator came quickly.

not the worst, not the best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, building staff are mostly responsive
Cons:
Management is horribly rude and unresponsive
Advice to owner:
Get a new management company

Manageable
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super and maintenance workers are great. As is the concierge.
Cons:
The management company is completely unresponsive and difficult to even get a hold off. Problems in the apartment persists for years. The management leaves it all up to the super which is completely unfair instead of actually fixing the problem
Advice to owner:
Respond to your tenants. Send the correct professionals to deal which each issue.

Good spacious units
Former Tenant
Pros:
Generous sized apartments. Nice views of ESB in apartments facing 8th ave. Helpful staff. Very convenient location.
Cons:
Extremely loud due to facing 8th ave. Surrounding blocks are not so nice.

Terrible Management Company
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice Location and large units
Cons:
AWFUL TERRIBLE HORRIBLE Management company, impossible to get ahold of. Building staff is unprofessional and rude. Limited laundry room, always have to wait.
Advice to owner:
Get a better property management team. Nelly sucks.

Bad news, stay away
Former Tenant
Pros:
Doormen were nice
Cons:
Management is horrendous. Mouse and bed bug issues.

Property management impossible to get in touch with
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building Super lives next door and is responsive. Some of the doormen are very sweet. Views from top floor apartments are great.
Cons:
Building management is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. Hot water turns brown sometimes. AC units are VERY loud. Heat does not turn on unless outside temp below 53 (I think NYC states it has to below 55...) Some doormen don’t do their job (do not ask guests to sign in, do not call your apt before letting guest up). My friends bike got stolen out of the lobby while the doorman was sitting right there... Wall between my bedroom and my neighbor is VERY thin, can hear everything.
Advice to owner:
Pick up your phone, respond to emails

Excellent All Around
Former Tenant
Pros:
Kind and helpful staff, perfect location in Chelsea near a few subways, clean common areas, quiet neighbors, minimal street noise even though my bedroom window faced 8th Avenue
Cons:
We saw a mouse once or twice but swift action was taken, the management company is very responsible
Advice to owner:
Thank you for such a lovely three years! I miss living here!

Dalton - HORRIBLE building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized, decent location, good elementary school
Cons:
The building manager, the management company and the super are unbearable
Advice to owner:
Find another line of work because you are terrible at property management

Worst Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Modern apartments, washer dryer on every floor
Cons:
The management is unprofessional, the super never cleans or responds to anything. The building is not being kept up the way it once was. So many roaches throughout the building a washing machine is always broken, someone’s always smoking. The gym has been closed since corona and hasn’t reopened since. These are things that we pay for
Advice to owner:
Get a new one. You all suck and Alonso is by far the worst one

Decent Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Always kept clean, landlord keeps building in check
Cons:
Neighbors are noisy
Advice to owner:
Start giving out noise violations
Steer clear of this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Central
Small number of units
Cons:
Where to start!
Doorman sleeps on the job or doesn’t turn up. (FYI the entrance door opens automatically) so yeah, feeling super secure!
On site Super is lazy. (You may get a response 48 hours after contacting him, if you’re lucky)
Roaches and mice galore and no exterminator.
The list is endless
Advice to owner:
There is no point offering advice, we’ve done this directly and they do not respond or do anything.
