Review Summary for David Nierenberg
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by David Nierenberg reveals mixed experiences. While some appreciate rent stabilization, spacious apartments, and helpful superintendents, many highlight persistent maintenance issues such as heating problems, pest infestations, plumbing and electrical faults, and slow repair responses. Garbage management tends to be inconsistent, and noise levels—from outside traffic or neighbors—affect living comfort. Responsiveness from the owner and management is often described as delayed or insufficient, impacting overall satisfaction. Prospects should expect older buildings with some upkeep challenges but decent location benefits; improvements in maintenance and communication are needed to enhance tenant experience.

extreme noise outside
Former Tenant
Pros:
rent stabilized, spacious, amazing superintendent
Cons:
every day traffic builds up on the street and the people in this neighborhood do not take their hand of the horns, they hold their horns for what seems like 20/30 seconds at a time, extremely rude neighbors, one of them is racist and abusive to his house aids

It was the coldest apartment I’ve ever lived in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building looks neat & clean from outside & the lobby.
Cons:
It was the coldest apartment I’ve ever lived in. The super is weird person, whenever you ask to fix something he tries to explain to you that’s how it should work. Guess what my shower was broken and that’s how it should work!
Cockroaches and mice will even enter your apartment.
Advice to owner:
Try to answer phone calls
