Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for SAM KLEIN's buildings reveal significant management challenges. Many properties suffer from severe pest infestations (rats, mice, roaches, bed bugs) and cleanliness issues. Numerous reports highlight unresponsive or slow management and maintenance staff, inconsistent heating and water supply, and security concerns like package theft and faulty locks. While some buildings have responsive supers and occasional well-kept units, overall upkeep is poor with frequent delays in repairs and communication. Tenants advise better pest control, improved communication, and proactive maintenance. A few Brooklyn locations fare better, but predominantly, renters express dissatisfaction with building management and living conditions.

Awful place to live

Pros

Nothing! I was miserable here.

Cons

Super dirty — people let their dog go to the bathroom in the lobby. Rodent issues, even had a rat IN my unit. Unreliable supers, changed frequently, and one was really creepy (showed up near midnight to help me). Management is not responsive. Hot water often did not work. Mold everywhere and my unit was not cleaned well before I moved in. It was actually quite disgusting. Did not notice a fire alarm in my unit. Neighbors screaming and police showing up at night.
