Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews highlight buildings owned by Anthony Ventura are a mixed bag. Some tenants appreciate the spacious layouts, safe locations, and responsive pest control. However, recurring issues include unresponsivemanagement, poor heating systems, and occasional pest problems. Tenants have expressed concerns about unclean common areas, noise levels, and inadequate owner responsiveness. Suggestions for improvement focus on better communication, faster maintenance responses, and enhanced building cleanliness. Overall, while some residents feel content with the building conditions, others advise caution due to management shortcomings and maintenance delays.

Decent Apartment, Horrible Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location. Simple but functional apartments.
Cons:
Landlord does not respond or care about tenant feedback or living conditions. If you have an issue, he will not respond and if he does you will get a quick, cheap “fix”. I’d avoid this building solely based on who the landlord is. Apartment also had leaks, mice, and cockroaches. Hallways and stairwells are dirty. Lack of building security with unwarranted access.
Advice to owner:
Respond to your tenants, fix issues with apartments

Decent small building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Small building not a lot of apartments, newly renovated unit with updated appliances and exposed red brick walls.
Cons:
Trash room on each floor which smells real bad sometimes, common stairs area needs paint.
Advice to owner:
Paint the common area and add new intercom system to the front door.

Cons:

Perfect for solo tenants who like quiet
Former Tenant
Pros:
Units are small so tenants don’t tend to have parties or be overly loud. Affordable (relatively) for a 1 br unit.
Cons:
Landlord could be more responsive, you really have to make an effort to get in contact. Appliances are old and small.
Advice to owner:
Small upgrades would go a long way, like modernizing appliances. But keep rent prices affordable and people will likely excuse those smaller things!

Terrible and Unresponsive Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Taking out the trash was really easy. There's a little trash closet on every floor with a garbage can and recycling bins inside. I lived in 4B and the unit was nice, updated, and we never had a problem with bugs.
Cons:
The management is horrible. Our ceiling fan in the living room has been broken the entire time we lived there and the management never did anything about it even though we emailed and called them at least once a week for about 3 months. Also, the only way to pay rent is by check that has to be dropped off at the landlord's building. In addition, the hallways are only cleaned every other month.

I would not recommend this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management changed broken stove quickly. Heat is fine.
Cons:
Management is not responsive most of the times unless subject is related to rent payment. Replacement of mailbox key - no response. Apartment has never looked the same as I was shown by broker. On first day I noticed ceiling cracks from leaking. I asked to repair it - no response. Roaches, mice and bed bugs. Dirty hall stairs Broken lock. One time I was locked inside the building due to broken lock. I called management and super so many times. No response. It is very hard to get management attention to your problem. Management responds quickly only when it is related to rent payment.
Advice to owner:
Communicate with your tenants. It is not normal to answer question about alternative rent payment quickly and ignore all other emails and phone calls about tenant’s problem. Clean stairs more often during summer.

Bad Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s close to the subway station.
Cons:
Don’t fix anything unless he is forced legally or during merger emergency. In order to get my lease renewal, I have to file a complaint to DHCR. We never have pest control. The front door of the building is not working properly for long time.
Advice to owner:
Do your right things for the tenants!

Don’t rent here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building itself is fine.
Cons:
The landlord never gave my roommate and I our security back DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC! We have not had any calls or emails returned since May 2020. The apartment was left completely spotless and in perfect condition. We are currently taking legal action.
