Great place to live, wonderful staff
Pros
Fantastic location in Hell's Kitchen, close to lots of subways for an easy commute and to Central Park for outdoor fun. The building staff is truly the best - I felt so taken care of living there. All the doormen, porters, and maintenance staff were kind, professional, and really got to know us. Most of our neighbors were friendly and quiet.
Cons
Building management is not the worst I've ever experienced, but certainly not great. We requested a window cleaning 3 or 4 years into our tenancy and they said they couldn't do the upper floors 'because there are too many' windows. They eventually sent someone after a few months of asking and the guy said he is literally in the building every week? They were a little slow to respond/act with a leak and a pest issue but eventually got things done. In general Gotham lacks proactive communication.
Used to have great programs for residents but went downhill real bad
Pros
Below was my review from 3-4 years ago but the place has become significantly and progressively worse. Amazing resident enrichment programs, generally great doormen and staff, pet friendly, clean premises, feels safe, free commuter shuttle
Cons
Programs suck because the event managers who replaced the old one suck and don’t care. The coffee machine and the business center devices break all the time and take days before they’re fixed. The friendliest porters all left. Plumbing, ventilation, and water leaks are recurring issues, and they said fhey can’t really fix them permanently
