Find a place with better management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty new and clean, nice enough amenities. We got lucky for the price when we signed.
Cons:
Management slow to respond to issues--have had frequent issues with functional heating/air conditioning, appliances, elevator outages, and Internet outages that have dragged on for days and weeks. The laundry machines are frequently out of order, often leaving only 1 or 2 available to use. may not be your neighbor, but mine smokes weed and the stench travels into our apartment
Advice to owner:
Manage these issues better, the tenants deserve better for what they pay for

It was just okay.
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's a nice building with pretty good views. It's clean, quiet, and relatively safe.
Cons:
The company that owns the building is pretty unhelpful and a little rude. It's also unnecessarily expensive for what it is.
Advice to owner:
Add more amenities and be kind to the residents.

Co-living an experiment gone wrong
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well-constructed building. I hardly ever heard the neighbors above or to the sides.
Cons:
The most incompetent property management possible. It took them 3 months to return my security deposit too.

Stay Away from this Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management (Common) does not respond to any of your emails, tickets, etc. There is no cleaning of the common areas, laundry rooms (washers and dryers), garbage rooms, etc. This is against all sanitation regulations, not to mention for Covid 19. This building was clean and well maintained prior to Common. Since they took over, the living conditions here at The Lanes are despicable. Do not live here.
Cons:
Do not live here
Advice to owner:
This is unacceptable.

2018-2020 Tenant with the Lanes
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Brand new
- Rent-stabilized and fairly priced rooms
- 2nd floor apartments all have big private terraces
- Nice gym
- Two nice lounges
- Nice furnished roof with beautiful view
Cons:
- In 2020, an influx of noisy tenants arrived who threw parties even on weeknights
- Certain groups of tenants and their guests were constantly in the roof and hogging it
- Management refused to remove a tenant who had Covid that refused to move to a different unit to quarantine, i had to work with them on my own effort to get a new unit separate from this dangerous individual
- A bit of a long walk to subways
- No coffee shops in the immediate area for the 2 years I was there, and only one supermarket (shoddy Key Foods)
Advice to owner:
Screen tenants for behavior and make it clear that quiet hours are 10pm inward on weeknights

Remove dangerous tenants immediately
