Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Building reviews of Eric Margules indicate a mixed experience for tenants. While some appreciate spacious units and good neighborliness, recurring issues surface regarding management effectiveness. Cleanliness presents a concern, with numerous reports of pest problems and garbage mismanagement. Owner responsiveness tends to be unsatisfactory, complicating requests for maintenance and pest control. Although certain facilities like heating and water pressure receive some praise, many tenants report prolonged wait times for repairs and inadequate communication. Overall, future renters should be prepared for a potentially challenging living experience unless management practices improve significantly.

Reviews

Former tenant·just now

Kind of a mess but nice neighbors

Pros

It's on the corner of a relatively quiet neighborhood. The other tenants in the building are nice and respectful, and some have lived here for decades. My apartment is relatively spacious and has relatively new floors. Pet friendly.

Cons

The building is rated "D" for heat efficiency. The elevator has broken down (aka stopped) at least 5 times this year. The lock on the front door of the building continually has mechanical issues and multiple tenants including myself have had keys that get stuck in the lock. In addition there was a period of 2 months when the lock was completely removed, so anyone off the street could just walk into our building. I've had 3 packages stolen from the lobby/mailroom and had to open a P.O. Box at the nearest post office to secure my packages. The roach issue is bad, and although the building has pest control this person won't spray your individual apartment *unless you take initiative and call to set up monthly sprays. This information is not relayed to you and you have to figure it out by yourself. The super of the building lacks clear communication and doesn't follow through with requests.
