Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by David Malek reveal a notable inconsistency in management quality. While some buildings offer quiet neighborhoods, friendly neighbors, and relatively responsive supers, many suffer from poor cleanliness, pest infestations, inadequate garbage management, and slow or nonexistent maintenance responses. Rent-stabilized units are common, but complaints about outdated apartments, frequent repair delays, and unprofessional handling of tenant concerns are widespread. Package theft and security issues also recur, often compounded by underperforming surveillance systems. Overall, tenants advise improvements in pest control, maintenance responsiveness, building cleanliness, and ethical management practices to enhance living conditions.

Rent stabilized but flawed

Pros

Good super, elevator, good people, decent sized apartment, allows dogs, great area

Cons

Packages stolen, no cameras (that work well enough for thefts or any other crime), horrible cams only in lobby area, management is not helpful - only care to get rent on time, old apartments, roach infestations when units are turned or bad storms, etc

Horrible Management and Building

Pros

The building had friendly neighbors.

Cons

Extremely slow maintenance, building cleanliness, roaches and mice, non repair of old/out dated appliances, and doctored documents from management to prevent return of your security.

Advice to the owners

Upgrade the quality of your appliances and cleanliness from pests for your tenants, respond timely to maintenance, issues, operate ethically when tenants leave and not make up documents to prevent returning security.
