Review Summary for Liane Ginsberg
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Liane Ginsberg reveal a generally well-maintained portfolio with commendable doormen, attentive superintendents, and responsive maintenance teams enhancing the living experience. Cleanliness and garbage management are largely appreciated, though occasional pest issues and noise complaints arise. Elevators frequently face service disruptions impacting convenience. Rent hikes are often noted as steep, with limited flexibility during challenging times, deterring some long-term tenants. Package theft and older building infrastructure represent recurring concerns. Overall, management is recognized for its professionalism and care, yet renters suggest improvements in building upkeep, pest control, elevator maintenance, and more tenant-friendly rent policies.

Greenwich Village gem
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing views and sunlight from apartments above 23rd floor, rooftop pool unheard of in Manhattan (for a fee), amazing doormen and staff
Cons:
Raise rent 8% every year the past few years with no negotiation, dogs pee all over the sidewalk in front of the building so it always smells, the super George is unresponsive and unhelpful

Great super, bad management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is incredible, the location is great
Cons:
Management sucks, rents go up insane amounts year to year, apartments are outdated, across from a school
Advice to owner:
Improve the elevator and apartments

Lived there 2012, was great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, clean, super and doorman (at the time) were great guys. Super (Zev) was awesome. Never had any major issues or complaints
Cons:
Not much, never really had issues. Saw a roach probably twice over the 2 years I lived there

It's ok if you're looking for something basic
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's relatively clean and they're good about taking the trash down and making sure our unit repairs get done
Cons:
The elevators always break down, the service elevator in particular is a nightmare to use to get to do laundry, I've seen a roach here and there but no sign of an infestation
Advice to owner:
Do better maintenance of the elevator

Loved living here
Former Tenant
Pros:
You get an incredible building for decently affordable prices, especially for those living with roommates. The doormen and staff in the building are so wonderful - I’m extremely sad to leave.
Cons:
Third Avenue and 33rd can be a bit dangerous and loud, so if you’re on a low floor, expect that commotion.

Elevators have gone through many ups and downs of repairs and being out of service.

Great rental building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great building with nice doormen and staff, clean lobby, large apartments with good views
Cons:
Elevators get backed up frequently and are often out of commission
Advice to owner:
Fix the elevators

Wonderful building & tenure
Former Tenant
Pros:
The doorman are incredible and the reason we were so sad to leave. The units themselves were very nice (we lived in 2 over 5 years!) and the maintenance team was super responsive and great to work with. Incredible location. We miss the building so much!
Cons:
The years of the elevator upgrades made for very painful long waits, but ultimately were worth it. The hallways could be nicer, and we wish they had larger units, also there is no flexibility on rent negotiations, which was painful during Covid.

Terrible MGMT, Cockroaches, No heat, Stolen packages
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, good closet space. Good water pressure.
Cons:
The building’s management does not care about abiding by the law or how you live. There’s only a part-time súper who doesnt live in the building and is only available limited hours. Packages are stolen despite security cameras. Lobby wreaks of marijuana. Huge cockroach infestation with incompetent pest control. Heat broke multiple times throughout the winter and took days to fix.

Classic NY building w/ Responsive Management
