Like a college dormitory
Former Tenant
Pros:
Typically spacious apartments with high ceilings and large windows and a lot of natural light. Affordable for the area and good location
Cons:
The gas, heat, elevator, and hot water all shut off and break consistently, it takes a long time for repairs to get done, I’ve been stuck in the elevator more than once, packages get stolen daily, mice and roaches, people smoke in the stairwells, leasing dept/management don’t respond to you. Appliances and interior are outdated.
Advice to owner:
Figure out the heat/gas/water/package theft situation

It’s good but not forever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fairly clean. Friendly residents. Wonderful area!
Cons:
Inept management. They started illegally holding the entire building’s mail a year ago and don’t allow you to access it except at random inconvenient times that THEY decide. Absolutely illegal but they don’t care. Also, didn’t have gas for SIX MONTHS! Six. They barely did anything about it. This place is too pricey for what it offers.
Advice to owner:
Set up a mail room in the basement that tenants can access when they please. This is so obvious I don’t understand why it needs to be explained to you. Like??????

Past tenant rented 5+ years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Kamil is the best super. He is very responsive and responds/comes to the apartment within 5-15 minutes.
Cons:
Very old building. Really went downhill with the way they handled things during covid.

It is what it is
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is pretty good
Cons:
The appliances could use some TLC at best and a full overhaul at worst
Advice to owner:
Provide roof access without having jimmy the door open

Good place with minor issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Since building manager changed, it’s turning better.
Sup is responsive.
Ceiling is about 17’, which give you a spacious living space, but also give you strong latent heat and sunlight if live on top floors.
Rent is pretty affordable.
Cons:
-Get prepared for your package got stolen if you live here, and no one is gonna take care of this.
-Garbage on street side. (Can’t avoid )
-Water pressure low on top floors.
-Really bad soundproofing building unless living at first floor or second( second floor is casted concrete, but above is all wood structure.
-Elevator is really slow.

If “Family Dollar” were an apartment building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge space. You can do just about anything to your space.
Cons:
Management doesn’t care about anything but the rent. Elevators need remodeling. Lobby needs remodeling. Front door needs to be replaced. Public Housing’s front doors are much more secure than this building’s front door.
Advice to owner:
Use some of our rent money and reinvest back into the buildings. FRONT DOORS REPLACEMENT FOR CHRIST SAKE.
