Quiet Nook on UWS
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing Super (Mike), friendly neighbors, quiet building.
Cons:
None to speak of other than we smelled gas but the stove unit was quickly replaced and that solved the problem. Can only pay rent via check.

Could be good but frustrating place
Former Tenant
Pros:
Most of the other tenants I met here are pretty friendly and helpful, almost community-like
It’s in a decent area that’s quiet and good to walk about
Cons:
The apts themselves are decent, could be maintained better but management is one of the biggest downfalls. Over time I’ve noticed a number of the tenants I met are moving because of frustration. You can never reach anyone who is supposed to be your ctc person for the building or apt at their numbers. The public/common areas are not maintained that well, even the front door to enter the building didn’t close properly for weeks. The super tries but it appears like he has very limited resources to do anything. There have been the same issues continuously with leaking and they patch repeatedly but no proper fixing. Things get ruined and then you wait and hope for the weather to change. May as well be exposed outside the way your peace is subject to the weather. I’ve seen mice coming out of holes in the walls and there are smells that come out of the grates that make it hard to stay in your apt.
Advice to owner:
The property owners need to take responsibility for the place and not just have agents rent a place and then dissappear and you can never reach them again. There is too much turnover and no direct information on the state of things in the building communicated.
