Review Summary for Washington Towers LLC
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for buildings managed by WASHINGTON TOWERS LLC indicate a mixed experience with significant management challenges. Common issues include persistent pest infestations, particularly roaches, poor cleanliness and garbage management, and slow or unresponsive maintenance services. Heating problems and noise disturbances are frequent complaints. However, some tenants appreciate the affordable rent, sizable apartments, and friendly neighbors. Responsive supers and some well-maintained buildings stand out as positives when present. Overall, prospective renters should expect management that often struggles with property upkeep, pest control, and timely repairs, with notable variability in tenant satisfaction across different buildings.

There’s Cockroaches Everywhere
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s cheap for how many rooms given in the apartment.
Cons:
The rooms are tiny, there’s a constant roach infestation no matter how many times the exterminator is called or how clean you keep the kitchen. The toilet always gurgles loudly for 30 minutes after you flush it. The bathroom sink is always clogged. Sometimes hot water is unpredictable with the kitchen sink.

Pretty bad building and terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheap and sizeable apartment
Cons:
The pipes are so unbelievably loud. It wakes my whole apartment up multiple times a night. Management is unbearable to work with. Truly terrible. They bug situation is also pretty bad and management doesnt care. You have to take care of it yourself. There is literally nothing that could happen that managment could care about- even when my ceiling was leaking and had mold growing I had to hound them to get it taken care of, which consited of them just paining over the water stains, and leaving the paint they chipped off all over the counter and floor. I could go on but you het the point.
Advice to owner:
Take care of the apartments. Be responsive when tenants tell you there's a problem. And call people back when you say you will so they don't have to chase you down for the smallest thing.

bugs never die
Former Tenant
Pros:
landlord never bothers you
Cons:
cockroaches everywhere and things aren't clean in hallways and staircases

It's just fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
the neighbors are all chill
Cons:
6 floor walk up should be illegal, and there's no ADA access

Nice but problems persist
Former Tenant
Pros:
Affordable for the area and a lot of space. Not a lot of units means not a lot of people to deal with, and most are respectful.
Cons:
Repairs are very difficult to get done. They only have two supers for every building in their portfolio, so it's damn near impossible to get any repairs done in a reasonable span of time. They also try to drop bigger repairs like the boiler unless you consistently complain.
Advice to owner:
Hire a super for every building so your two people don't have to scurry all around the city.

I enjoy living in this building- mostly
Former Tenant

Currently has a big pest problem :(

Management very unresponsive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly super. More cons than pros.
Cons:
Management very unresponsive to problems or repairs, loud neighbors, packages often stolen
Advice to owner:
Manage the building better. Be more attentive to tenants needs and problems

I lived in a cubicle
Former Tenant
Pros:
They were responsive to my maintenance requests and the trash was always handled quickly and on time
Cons:
The rents are unrealistic for roommates, and the apartments were cut up into tiny rooms. It was also noisy.
Advice to owner:
Be more realistic about rent

Old and dirty
Former Tenant
Pros:
The neighbors and sense of community. Also very pet friendly
Cons:
Lack of cleaning in both the floors, the painting, the roach infestation and no súper in unit
Advice to owner:
Get people to clean

It was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked the apartment size and upgrades.
Cons:
The trash management was obscene. Raccoons were regularly on the "trash landing".
Advice to owner:
Find a real trash/pest management system.

Negligent Maintenance Staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big apartments, privacy from neighbors
Cons:
Maintenance needs to be called dozens of times for the most basic repairs, even emergencies like leaks.
Nice size units
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved the size of the unit - though should have kept it a three bedroom instead of a 4 bedroom. Two bedrooms were very small and had tiny closets not in the room.
Cons:
The trash situation was reprehensible. Raccoons lived on the trash landing. Management had a few nice people, but moved pretty slowly.
Advice to owner:
Garbage management. And focus on making more rooms really nice instead of trying to fit more in there.

Good place alltogether
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nicely maintained, clean, no big problems with heat/hot water
Cons:
Some roaches from time to time
RUN AWAY! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Absolutely nothing good to say.
Cons:
Do not consider this building at all. Neighbors steal you packages, then knock on your door claiming that they “found them all opened” then ask money in return. Management knows about this and does absolutely nothing. Also, they do not care about the structure. Flooring is moldy and disgusting and they do not want to repair it.

good Starter Apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great neighbors, Great price and great location
Cons:
building does not call exterminator at all, there are so many roaches.
Advice to owner:
fix the infestation issues please

Horrible but manageable
Former Tenant
Pros:
It has several school in its area that are really great if you have children. The hospital is also close by. And so are the supermarkets and other necessities.
Cons:
They give no heat in the winter. They do minimal cleaning When something is broken it takes them forever to come around and repair it. There’s always an issues with the first flight of stairs due to them always being dirty. They’re is no control on who comes in and out so you will find trash on the stairs and spilled liquids. And if it doesn’t bother you some times you’ll find a homeless family member from one of the neighbors sleeping under the stairs.

Okay Experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big apartment, landlord eventually invested in some repairs,
Cons:
Major heat issue, took a lot of following up to get them to do repairs
Over 4 years ago
Landlord is bipolar
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to public transportation
Cons:
No elevator, long steep stairs, drug activity in front of the building
Advice to owner:
Take a diversity course stop treating tenants with disrespect.

Home for Six Years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, Superintendent, Apartment Size, Hardwood Floors, Maintained Lobby
Cons:
No Temperature Control, Pipes Bang Loudly, No laundry (well there’s three washers/dryers SHARED by three buildings of 16 units each), No Dishwasher, Price,
Advice to owner:
Push to upgrade apartments when vacant to meet the rising rents (increases of $50 a year). Raise rents upon vacating not during lease. Address the lack of laundry in each building.
