Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of Solomon Schwimmer-managed buildings generally find these properties clean and well-equipped with amenities like gyms, rooftops, and laundry facilities. Pest control and heating often receive praise, and some managers and supers are noted as responsive and hardworking. However, renters frequently express dissatisfaction with management's responsiveness, citing slow or dismissive replies, strict and sometimes unfair lease rules, and issues with noise, especially from parties in common areas. There are complaints about high prices, unexpected fee increases, and occasional poor upkeep of communal spaces. Residents recommend more attentive, respectful communication and improved security measures to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Reviews

Mostly fine, residents can be hit or miss

Pros

Basic amenities including gym and rooftop access for free, laundry in the basement (cash only)

Cons

Pretty expensive for a rent stabilized apartment

Former tenant·26 minutes ago

Modern, clean, and comfortable in a nice neighborhood

Pros

-Building stays pretty warm during the winter even without heater turned on. -Pest control is pretty solid and only had to deal with a couple water bugs during the summer when they crawl up the drain

Cons

*They gave notice about raising the price for laundry without any transparency. Each wash/dry load costs $3.50 now, which is double the price for what used to be $2.25 for the washer and $1.75 for the dryer. *Apartment units are nice, but small for the rent you'll pay, especially for single households.

Advice to the owners

Consider better upkeep of the common areas, such as the taking out the garbage from the rooftop and tending to the garden areas in the courtyard--there's lots of annoying flies/mosquitoes from neglect.
