Review Summary for Avi Singer
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of buildings managed by Avi Singer indicate a mixed management experience. Tenants frequently commend the landlord's responsiveness and the quiet, safe neighborhoods with renovated apartments. However, consistent issues include poor cleanliness, especially with garbage and pest control, notably rat infestations and cockroach problems, which remain inadequately addressed despite reports. Heating is sometimes unreliable, and noise disturbances from construction or internal sources have been common complaints. Some tenants mention unfriendly or unhelpful staff, particularly supers. While many approve of the owner and recommend the buildings, improvements in sanitation, pest management, and more attentive building maintenance are strongly advised.

Somewhat Nice and Pricey
Former Tenant
Pros:
Access to laundry, quick trash pick up

Advice to owner:
Be a better person.

Charming walk-up in UES
Former Tenant

The apartment is renovated. High ceilings. Management company is very responsive.

Do not recommend living here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent is cheaper than rest of UES
Cons:
The super screamed at me and told me that it was my fault the entire lock in my door fell out when I tried to unlock it. I was locked out without a phone and he threatened to leave me there from afternoon until the evening (this was in October). The construction can be very loud. No laundry. Minor but annoying - charges small service fee to pay rent every month.
Advice to owner:
Fire your super

Great first apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
I felt so safe living here! There were two doors to the building, and guests could only be rung up from a doorbell. My apartment was spacious and clean at move-in.
Cons:
some weird neighbors and package thieves.

UES 1 Bed Near Construction
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management company is responsive and understanding (as any nyc landlord can be)
Apartment is newly renovated with updated kitchen and bath
Neighborhood and neighbors are great
Cons:
Small (under 300 sq feet) for a 1 bed - basically stuck a wall in a studio, what’s new?
Pest problem (mice) due to poor renovation/patchwork behind appliances/radiator
Construction!!! This was not told to us before moving in but a week later scaffolding went up and complete demolition happened next door. They are now rebuilding but damages have been done to building/my apartment since construction started
Advice to owner:
N/A I think all your tenants complaints have been told to you

Advice to owner:
Nothing material to note
Just moved but everything seems good
Former Tenant
Pros:

Virtual doorman
Cons:
Poor waste management
Big Rat Infestation in the basement
Advice to owner:
Please please fix the issue with rats in basement!
It’s just AWFUL!
Decent building minus the disgusting basement rats
Former Tenant
Pros:
Intercom is a nice feature
Cons:
Poor management of rat infestation in basement garbage area (likely also due to poor waste management.) Absolutely unacceptable living condition since laundry machines are in the same room. Fix this issue! Already reported to 311 with no improvement over multiple-month period (research shows this issue has existed for years, how disgusting)
Advice to owner:
Fix the rat/trash issue in basement, it’s a sanitary hazard, health hazard, and just plain negligence
