Review Summary for Nal Management Corp
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renter reviews of buildings managed by NAL MANAGEMENT CORP reveal a generally responsive and personable management team, with many tenants praising the attentive supers, prompt issue resolution, and relatively clean, well-maintained properties. Common positives include quiet neighbors in certain buildings, available laundry facilities, and dog-friendly outdoor spaces. However, some buildings suffer from inconsistent cleanliness, occasional pest issues, noisy summer crowds, and heating concerns such as overly high or insufficient heat. Tenants also mention challenges like high rent increases, package theft before mailroom installations, and outdated apartment features. Overall, the management is engaged but could improve infrastructure upkeep and communication in specific locations.

Nice quiet building that could be a little cleaner
Former Tenant
Pros:
great super, very responsive
Quiet
Nice location
Not any pests that I ever saw
Nice outdoor backyard for everyone
Cons:
Garbage in the basement can build up and really smell in the summer
Areas of the building are somewhat dirty, especially basement
Laundry is quite expensive
Backyard common area can get very loud if there are visitors

Solid building in great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Excellent location. My unit faced 3rd street which was fairly quiet compared to Ave A. Building hallways were kept clean. Laundry on each floor. Only one elevator but it worked well. Each floor had 5(?) units and i believe there were 5 floors.

Note- possible that experiences varied by floor.
Cons:
Sometimes it could be loud but that comes with the location. Saw roaches 2-3 times in the 2 years we lived there, so not bad not still not ideal.

Good Management and Clean Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Never had any issues with management/super addressing minor concerns in the building.
Cons:
Had a mouse problem... but that's kind of just New York right? It was handled swiftly.

Gave me Bronchitis
Former Tenant
Pros:
Needed a sublet so I found a four bedroom for my friends for the summer through NYU students
Cons:
The apartment WAS NOT upkept tenant to tenant. Had sewar issues for years and I my bedroom was on the basement level, and after a rain storm the sewar filled with fecal matter at sat next to my running AC before I realize and got so horribly sick. Immediately moved out and company did not care. thankfully I was a sublet to not liable to pay the rest
Advice to owner:
check on the units every year

GREAT super, good building, rents going up
Former Tenant
Pros:
Extremely responsive and personable super and management office contact; quick to respond to any problems; well-maintained building where super and management company care about tenants treating common hallways well
Cons:
Most family-style apartments being converted into 3BR without living room, driving up rents

Great building & management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Mike the super is the best. Super nice. Management is always quick to respond. Building is always clean. Thick walls so you cant hear neighbors.
Cons:
It gets really hot but units have big windows that can open to let cold air in

Cons:
really hot in the winter

Good year in EV
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, very responsive management. Whenever there were any issues, they were resolved quickly.
Cons:
Having the below the window AC units caused a lot of noise to come in. With the AC units on it can dull out the noise but in the winter even if covered you hear everything below on the street/sidewalk. Also wish that kitchen/bathroom was more updated for the price, but not the end of the world.

Decent Building, Fabulous Super
Former Tenant
Pros:
The Super (Mike) is incredible, knows everyone in the building and always says Hi. One of the biggest pros. Outdoor space is nice, as well as a small but functional gym. It has a surprising amount of space for East Village, and maintenance is pretty responsive.
Cons:
The brokers working for the building are not great, and try to get into people’s apartment to show them even when yours isn’t up for rent. They keep the heat very high from late fall through spring so it gets very warm as the weather turns (and honestly even in the dead of winter). There is laundry in the building which is great, but the price is frankly ridiculous and you have to get cash to do it.

good place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
decent size apartment for the price. updated appliances. laundry in building.
Cons:
had a problem with mice that took way too long to be fixed. also had issues with heat not being turned on in the winter

Great for where it is just a bit expensive
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great. Maintenance is very responsive. I enjoyed living there. The people from the office are very nice
Cons:
No room for a microwave. The crazies of Avenue C are tough to sleep through late at night. There is definitely a lively crowd, but they usually don't bother anyone. They just might wake you up at 5 a.m.

Nice first apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
love the super and the location. nice building
Cons:
Only real complaint were the occasionally bad disposal methods and the emails from management. Otherwise nice
Over 2 years ago
Solid building. Not too many complaints
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very helpful and responsive super. Elevator and intercoms in apartments are great.
Cons:
The heat is ALWAYS going when it isn't summer and makes the apartment super warm. Have to sleep with the A/C on every night. People aren't respectful with their trash and completely overfill the bins. Also, packages get left outside the mailroom in the lobby very often. The laundry isn't the best - barely fits a full load and if you do have a full load, you need to split into two dryers or else it will take forever for your clothes to dry.
Advice to owner:
Go easy on the heat. I'm sweating in my apartment.

Good building, but be aware of downsides
