East Village steal
Former Tenant
Pros:
Suspiciously cheap listings -- lived here for two years with no major issues and saved major money while doing so. Super accessible in EV and the super is very sweet once you get a hold of him. Nice view/light. Very much a soft spot for this apartment.
Cons:
not super clean building -- even the apartment despite deep cleaning was impossible to be pristine -- old kitchen and bathroom. Had pests for a few weeks and was able to eradicate with help of management/pest control. Issues with boiler/water meant that we often had no water or no hot water with no notice for 48ish hours.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenant requests

eh it’s passable
Former Tenant
Pros:
this was a great first apartment for me in lots of ways— affordable with roommates, great location, amazing neighborhood, respectful neighbors, and surprisingly quiet (my unit faced the back of building, not street)
Cons:
not the greatest management, rent has gone up every year and nothing’s improved, landlord takes awhile to respond and act on problems (i.e: problems with heat, plumbing, bugs, etc.) rats by the trash and they get noisy at night 🫤

Unresponsive but fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
Like the hardwood floors. Building is generally in sa good area away from too much east village noise
Cons:
Landlord was so hard to reach. Downstairs neighbors were absolutely crazy and came pounding on our door to tell us to quiet down when we were literally in bed. Windows were shitty and one time literally just fell out of the track.

Building falling apart, management won't fix adequately
Former Tenant
Pros:
great location, cheap rent
Cons:
ceiling in my apartment leaked continually throughout my time here and fell in twice. building is super old and management refuses to fix the actual pipes, they just plaster over the holes and paint over the mold. so gross
Advice to owner:
fix the pipes

Great location but still not the best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Really loved the proximity to everything with this apt.
Cons:
Lots of bugs and saw rats out front all the time

Unresponsive building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, clean, never had rat problems indoors
Cons:
Building management is impossible to contact in a timely manner, unit itself was old and had lots of issues that we couldn’t get fixed - leaking upstairs into our bathroom, dishwasher broken for an entire year, etc that at the end of our lease still wasn’t fixed and barely acknowledged
