Nice building, terrible block
Former Tenant
Pros:
Never had a pest issue, super is very responsive, kitchen is updated and has microwave/oven/dish washer, decent amount of space
Cons:
Very dark living room/back bedroom, street is very very noisy and has a homeless issue

it isn’t great but it sure is convenient
Former Tenant
Pros:
-location -helpful super -fine enough??
Cons:
-water has been turned off for extensive periods -rats -street noise is crazy
Advice to owner:

Not worth the money
Former Tenant
Pros:
Extremely nice super
Cons:
No heat in my room, pigeons stay on the windowsills and it sounds like they are in the walls. People in the basement that live there permanently are extremely rude. And they raised the rent by 35%.

So central and so loud
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s in the East Village; great access to trains, bars, and restaurants; your friends will actually come visit you; beautiful and historic exterior; high ceilings; big windows; exposed brick; responsive super; good showers; rents are low in these pandemic times.
Cons:
It’s so very, very loud; living on the busiest stretch of SMP is like living on 14th or 42nd street in terms of crowds, trash, and tourists; pre-pandemic rents were high for the non stabilized units; the building is very old and the owner only does nominal, bandaid repairs; the building is increasingly filled with undergraduates and their parties; it’s a walk-up with steep and twisting stairs; no direct sunlight; did I say it’s loud?
Advice to owner:
The floors are spongy, the walls are cracked, the roof leaks, and you seem unconcerned.

convenient & clean enough
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was in a great, convenient location with a responsive super that you could just text to fix any issues.
Cons:
There was quite a few creatures and critters, and the interior (halls and stairways) never felt very clean. People would leave large furniture items blocking the stairs sometimes.

Dump dump dump
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lots of Asian food and close to subways
Cons:
This building is a complete dump. Don’t get fooled by the large sized rooms. I constantly had roaches coming and the owner does not provide an exterminator. My unit was leaking water from the upstairs neighbor which they never fixed. The neighborhood itself is pretty disgusting. I’ve never walked out and not seen trash, drug dealers, rats and roaches. People hanging out ALL HOURS of the night Thank goodness I left
