Awful Building Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only thing I liked about this apartment was the size of my room.
Cons:
Awful building management: within a year of living in this building we have had issues with heat twice, and it's not just a day without heat- we haven't had heat for days both times and this time we are approaching a week and the management still hasn't given us a date of when it will come back. We also don't have hot water this time. The first time they offered us space heaters after a few days only for the super to tell us that was a mistake and they didn't have any accommodations for us. Also they've had huge issues with their laundry machines. While I've lived here, every single laundry machine has been broken multiple times. When bringing it up to the super he said it wasn't his problem and to talk to the laundry machine company. When I brought this up to the laundry machine they told me management decides whether we get new machines. I've brought this up to management multiple times and if they respond, they respond "fixing it." It's been months of them "fixing" these machines. The machines have not worked for more than 2 weeks at a time for the past few months. Everyone knows it's an issue but no one even calls in at this point because management never actually does something about it. Also there is a pest problem. We've received 2 emails throughout the year about an exterminator coming. They haven't brought them in once. There's also signs that sporadically show up in the building that there are rats coming into the building. Also the basement smells rancid because trash just builds up there and it's especially gross in the summer. It smells like a humid garbage truck. Also there have been messes and spills in the hallways that stay there for days and no one will clean it. Everything is a front in this building. The real estate agent will tell you it's nice and the management is great but it's all a sham. This is an update. This has been the third time there has been no heat or hot water. :)
Advice to owner:
Fix your laundry machines, fix your heat/gas problem, be more cleanly, be more responsive and when you are be professional, work on pest control.

Not the best
Former Tenant
Pros:
It has an elevator and laundry in the building. The super is also great too!
Cons:
Haven’t had heat for over a month, lost heat 3 times throughout the winter for a week at a time, didn’t have hot water for over 2 weeks, the laundry is constantly broken
Advice to owner:
Actually answer your phones and compensate your tenants for not having hot water and heat

Would move back in
Former Tenant
Pros:
This is such a cool retro pre war looking building! Superintendent John Debono is very responsive and lives in the building I gave him a Xmas bonus every year that he almost always wanted to refuse. Property manager Eric Borkowski was responsive to any issues.
Cons:
It’s definitely a younger crowd living here Although walls are thick in pre war buildings so it’s just who you see in the hallways
Advice to owner:
Give John a bonus
