Middle of the road spot in Murray Hill
Former Tenant
Pros:
The top floors have terraces! They’re gorgeous. Some units are duplexes so if you can score one it’s almost worth living in Murray Hill. The pet store downstairs is wonderful. The laundry room is in the basement and it’s not that bad. The cleaning staff are friendly. The super is relatively responsive (some stuff is fixed the same day but otherwise he’s not the most helpful and will ignore your texts). The Juliet balconies are narrow and on top of the street. Not for the faint of heart.
Cons:
You’re right above the midtown tunnel so it can be loud. Second Ave over here is gross - noisy, traffic, dirty. Packages frequently got stolen but I think it’s better now. The front door to the street doesn’t always lock (but they want to charge $3k for a studio?!) The management company got a lot of tenants during Covid and then more than doubled the rents to make up for it leading to a lot of turnover.
Advice to owner:
You should reward loyalty instead of price gouging your tenants to make up for Covid. We loved living here but many of us found nicer buildings for less than the proposed rent.
