Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renter reviews of 160 West 55 Street commend its spacious apartments, prime Manhattan location, and friendly, responsive staff including helpful doormen. The building benefits from effective pest control and well-managed garbage disposal. Tenants appreciate the quiet neighbors and good heating in many units. However, noise from nearby traffic can be an issue, and occasional shortcomings include inconsistent water temperature and slow maintenance responses. Some renters report frustrations with management's strict policies and communication. Overall, the building offers a comfortable urban living experience with attentive staff, though improvements in owner responsiveness and noise mitigation would enhance resident satisfaction.

Exploitative Management Practices
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked my apartment. It was spacious and conveniently located
Cons:
The building management is horrid. Withheld significant amounts of money for cleaning fee (despite us sending videos of how clean the apartment was) and was threatened us with eviction numerous times for arbitrary rules we broke (no furniture through the lobby, throwing out bulky items, guests staying in the apartment, etc.) I feel so lucky to not live in this building anymore. Matthew Goldberg is slimy and I am so grateful to not have to deal with him ever again.
