Pros:
There's a very high chance that you will get to know your neighbors in this building and you will love them. Everyone who lives in this building is a thoughtful neighbor, and we all constantly look out for one another. The units in this building are also fairly spacious if you're lucky enough to only have to share them with one roommate. They just replaced the old super, and the new one is much more organized/efficient.
Cons:
The building is dirty and run down. If you look at the building from across the street, you can see the visible cracks in the outer walls. If you're sleeping in the room closest to the street, get ready for heavy drafts in the winter time, and blasting heat in the summer time. The ceiling on the top floor of the building is literally crumbling. Any time it rains or snows, pieces of the ceiling fall onto the stairs. Management is impossible to get in touch with.

Useless management, amazing community

Pros:
Absolutely love the location and the spaciousness. The neighbors are incredibly helpful and a strong community. Neighborhood is fairly safe in the daylight and well-connected. Underneath the negligence is a beautiful classic building.
Cons:
Owner is unresponsive to most issues. Super doesn’t work on weekends. When he does, he sends uninformed lackeys to do slapjob repairs that they are clueless about. Building is old and beginning to sink and crack. Rats galore. Mold in the walls. Every unit is set up differently, has different amenities, but rent is consistent throughout. Units described as 3 BR despite not receiving legal sunlight amounts.
Advice to owner:
Communicate better or we will unionize.
