Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant feedback for 212 Amsterdam Avenue underscores its prime Upper West Side location, friendly doormen, and generally quiet, spacious apartments as major selling points. Many appreciate the affordability and full-service amenities despite the building's older condition. Responsive superintendents and good garbage management also enhance the living experience. However, noise from street activity and occasional pest issues have been noted, along with some concerns regarding management responsiveness and rent stabilization complexities. While most tenants recommend this building for its value and community feel, a few caution about management difficulties and maintenance responsiveness.

Good for price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. Close to everything. Laundry in building. Doorman (although no doorman service … ) in building. Rent is fairly cheap compared to other buildings in neighborhood.
Cons:
The closeness to next building on 69th is crazy. I don’t know how the zoning got approved. Because of this, the units facing 69th has no light coming in. This is why I moved out.
Rest of the cons: this building has no noise control, you can hear neighbor practicing instruments (lots of musician in building) or having sex. Also the major issue of the building is management (single owner) is weird and he won’t help. Tenants are mix bag but lots of weirdos who lives in building 20+ years on rent stabilized rent.
Advice to owner:
Please respond to tenants when they ask questions or raise concerns.
