Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 240 West 73 Street highlight its excellent location, friendly doormen, and well-maintained common areas like the gym and laundry. Tenants appreciate the clean and safe environment, quiet atmosphere, and easy access to public transit and nearby amenities. However, issues persist with inconsistent heating, low water pressure, and occasional unresponsiveness from management. Some renters report problems with rent hikes, problematic neighbors (including rent-controlled tenants who smoke indoors), and concerns about illegal rent stabilization practices. While many value the building staff's kindness and building cleanliness, potential renters should weigh these drawbacks against the prime Upper West Side location.

Owner rents out multiple furnished units like Airbnb
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great . The lobby staff is excellent. The manager on-site did the best she could do given the high turnover of management/owner.
Cons:
The long-term rent control tenants are bullies. They insist that they have the right to smoke in the building according to their rent control lease. If you ask them to curb their smoking they will increase their smoking activity more. The laws need to be changed as this is a smoke-free building but bully tenants are abusive.
