Budget friendly but at what cost
Former Tenant
Pros:
Affordable off season
Decent space
New appliances
Heat is always on when needed
Cons:
Rodents that you have to privately pay for (pest control) because
Management does not respond to any issues in a timely manner and tells you to deal with it.
Building helpline is never answered intentionally.
Advice to owner:
Answer your phones and take your residents seriously.

Poor management bad super terrible tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
Washer dryer in basement. Convenience of CVS, Morton Williams around the corner, Q train nearby, good eats.
Cons:
Terrible ridiculous management, rude, disrespectful and not mindful of you as a human being. Trash area has rats swimming around. I think one super told me he was part time? Think he was replaced soon after, not even sure. Large water bugs falling into covered ceiling light and running around until they die. Hallway constantly smells like raw sewage. Building mgr borderline harasses, knocking randomly, tries to get you to open your door so he can peek in. Had management enter my apartment without my permission several times. They began to gut my apartment the last month after I’d paid full months rent, without my knowledge or permission. Priced out without even trying to negotiate. As a person of color, certainly makes me feel a type of way…Neighbors are typical trust fund suburbanites living in the city for the first time. Racist, oblivious nasty people.
Advice to owner:
Stop being such terrible people if that’s at all possible.

Beware of Majesty Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in building basement
Cons:
Management is the absolute WORST. And the super is NEVER around. Rent is completely overpriced for what you are getting. Building maintenance is also horrible. Management kept my entire security deposit when I had to end my lease early due to their ridiculously high rent during COVID and on top of that they are currently trying to scam me into paying them $1,000 in “damages” for the apt after moving out when I have photo and video footage proving otherwise. Seems like they are just trying to have me pay for the renovations in my old unit for a new tenant. (They installed a microwave & dishwasher which I did not have & I saw it posted on their website) Sneaky and ruthless landlords!!!
Advice to owner:
Visit your properties & stop hiring supers who are NEVER around!!!! Also open your eyes & see how ridiculous your rent prices are compared to every other unit in the neighborhood.

There is nothing to like
Cons:
The trash is always spilling out into the street. Paper thin walls. Pest issues.
