Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 1771 1 Avenue highlight a generally clean and well-designed building with a modern lobby and basement laundry facilities. Tenants appreciate the good water pressure and relatively quiet environment with decent neighbors. The location is praised for convenience and space for NYC standards. However, some renters report issues with heating, occasional leaks, and persistent pest sightings despite prompt control efforts. Garbage management and owner responsiveness receive mixed feedback, with complaints about slow repairs and inconsistent maintenance. Rent fluctuations and small apartment sizes in the neighborhood also raise concerns. Improvements in maintenance speed and infrastructure would enhance tenant satisfaction.

Slow to replace broken appliances
Former Tenant
Pros:
Messes were cleaned up regularly
Cons:
They never replaced my broken appliance. I didn't realize at the time that this was a violation of rights as a tenant.
There were always issues with the washers and dryers in the basement
