Thin walls, flimsiest of buildings!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment was clean and freshly painted when I moved in. Spacious apartment Pleasant and neighbors are pleasant enough
Cons:
Heat is "included" in the rent, be ready to wear "outerwear" indoors since temp is kept at 68f (legal minimum). The heater radiator is so loud, my eardrums hurt and haven't had a full night sleep since the cold weather started. Super claims there is no solution, despite mgmt many attempts. It is true about one of the entrances being used as the garbage area; it's like walking into a dumpster (used as the move-in/out area), with mice and roaches galore. Heard from neighbors that the elevator breaks frequently, so now I make sure to have my cell phone at hand each time I'm in there (50's elevator, very vintage:) You'll hear your neighbors' conversations, dogs barking, babies crying - surely they can hear my cat meowing.. and the neighbor downstairs must have a rolling something, I feel as if there is a highway under me; my floor is constantly shaking.
Advice to owner:
Tell your real estate agents to be truthful about what the tenant will encounter (neighbors' noise level & heater radiator noise) - especially when someone makes it a point to say they're light sleepers, the agent should be truthful, so that the right tenant is given the opportunity to rent, as opposed to bringing a tenant to an environment filled with this many nuisances. Better sanitation / pest control in the garbage area.

Run (away) don’t walk!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large floor plans, quiet location on East End Avenue.
Cons:
Trash is piled up in area that is also the secondary entrance to building so be prepared to walk by mice and rats when you come and go. The overall state of the building is terrible, with stained carpets, a beat up elevator, and just an overall feeling of lack of care from management. The walls are SO thin and you can hear every thing - even your neighbor farting. The response time for fixing appliances is awful, we didn’t have a working dishwasher for the first month after we moved in. Be prepared to do basic repairs/fixes on your own, or else they won’t get done. The apartment was FILTHY when we moved in and had a layer of yellow grease on all surfaces. We spent the first week just deep cleaning the whole space. They don’t paint between each new resident because you can see all of the past nail holes/markings from the past tenant. Honestly, run, don’t walk from this building. Management could care less about the tenants and it shows every day.
Advice to owner:
Address the above. There’s so many issues here it’s unfathomable.
