Review Summary for 60 W 125 St
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for 60 W 125 St emphasize its prime location with excellent transit links and nearby shopping, including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. The building offers appealing amenities like a gym, laundry, rooftop deck with skyline views, and modern finishes. Management and staff are generally friendly and responsive, though some tenants note occasional slow responses and unprofessional rent hikes. Downsides include small, oddly shaped rooms with limited storage, thin walls, noise disturbances from neighbors and rooftop parties, and issues with package theft and occasional pest problems, exacerbated by nearby restaurant garbage. Despite challenges like busy street conditions and rodent presence, most recommend the building for its convenience and amenities.

Decent Space Overall
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gym, Laundry in building, in unit speaker, city skyline views on upper apartments, Quick access to everything you need down the street on 125th.
Cons:
Very small rooms, weird shaped, very thin walls, given the location, can be unpredictable in terms of comfort/safety, Large rats at night outside due to restaurants lack of new garbage cans

Avoid this place
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient location: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Starbucks are all within a five-minute walk. The custodial staff are consistently nice and friendly.
Cons:
Frequent package thefts – During my two years here, I lost items worth at least $800 due to stolen deliveries.

Noise disturbance – A neighbor on the 15th floor (not sure if he still resides there) regularly played extremely loud music. Even from the farthest apartment on the floor, the entire hallway was affected.

Excessive lockout fees – Getting locked out on weekends costs over $200 to hire Mr. Smith, whereas in other luxury apartments I’ve lived, this service is typically provided free of charge.

Rising rent – The rent increases steeply: $3,500 the first year (reasonable), then $4,000, and later $4,250.

Poor amenities – Very limited storage space and low-quality interior finishes.
