Not the absolute worst, but far from the best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient to two of the largest subway networks in Manhattan. Laundry in the building, neighborhood was great.
Cons:
Turnover of supers is crazy, they don’t live onsite so getting quick help requires back and forth to the office and the super themselves. Our unit had inadequate heating for the size. Windows are old and don’t retain heat so was always freezing in the winter or hot in the summer. Once COVID hit, weekly cleanings stopped. Garbage was still taken care of but noticed that mopping and general cleanings stopped altogether. The biggest complaint was when a nail salon opened in the business level of the building which was illegally ventilated causing toxic fumes to enter the entire building’s units and management didn’t care and did nothing because it was being rented by a “celebrity”. They are all about the money here.
Advice to owner:
Update your units and value your tenants. Especially the many long term ones that still live in the building which is unheard of. For the prices you want to charge, they are not competitive with the surrounding area.
