Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 401 West 121 Street emphasize its clean, well-maintained environment and excellent location near Columbia University and transit options. Tenants appreciate responsive and attentive management, especially the building manager, contributing positively to their experience. Spacious apartments with sufficient heat and water pressure are notable perks. However, some mention noise from nearby Morningside Park and slow or occasional elevator issues. Basic, unattractive furniture and relatively high rent for grad student housing are common concerns. While pest control is generally satisfactory, a few note minor pest issues. Overall, the building suits students and those valuing convenience despite some downsides like noise and decor.

Overall an All Right Experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious, right next to the park, always sufficient heat and water; bugs free; cheap
Cons:
Noise level due to proximity to the Morningside park - noise day and night, open-air music events in summer; sirens extraordinarily clear; lots of people smoke so you see cigaret butts all over the steps to the entry; no AC; superintendent not very responsive or accessible; access to laundry room locks after 10 or 11pm; streets can feel unsafe due to the very fact that it is right next to the morning side park
