Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 137 West 137 Street highlight mixed experiences. Positive aspects include the convenient location, improved management under Barry, and minimal noise levels from neighbors. However, persistent issues like inadequate heating, poor garbage management, and unresponsive ownership persist. Tenants report frequent package theft, maintenance delays, and disruptive neighbors. Suggestions include enhancing security measures, addressing maintenance promptly, and prioritizing tenant well-being. While some recommend the building due to its affordability and accessibility to transportation, others caution against it, advising potential renters to consider their options carefully before moving in.

Could be better but could be worse
Former Tenant
Pros:
I like the location and the price.
Cons:
I do not like the other tenant, packages getting lost, and people loitering outside the building. Also garbage piles up at times.

Use this building as an absolute last resort
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to the hospital
Cons:
Heat and hot water never work even when it’s freezing outside. We had rats in the walls. Unit was a two bedroom but we had no living space. Management ghosts you any time you have a real problem. Family on the 1st is very loud and allow children to terrorize everyone in the lobby. Considering the application process required by the management , we thought we were getting into a well maintained building - not the case at all. Only live here as an absolute last resort.
Advice to owner:
Start over. Pick a new career. Your behavior is criminal.
