Good management, alright building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Package locker, responsive super
Cons:
Inconsistent heat (seems to be fixed this year), finicky laundry situation.

Decent, no frills
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord rarely raises rent. When there has been an increase, it’s been minimal. Package locker has reduced theft (although not eliminated).
Cons:
Common areas are in need of renovation. Difficult to communicate with super (spanish speaker; minimal english). Basement is only accessible by elevator.
Advice to owner:
Please stop closing the basement from 8pm - 8am. It limits access (laundry and garbage) for those that that work long hours.

Owned by slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
good natural light in my unit, close to A train
Cons:
Renting from this place was an absolute mess. The owner Ron Edelstein is a complete jerk and slumlord who was extremely hostile. He is also an outspoken Trump supporter. His office workers were incompetent, disorganized, and often couldn’t even find records of me living there even though i signed a lease. Giving these people a security deposit is like putting money in the garbage because it won’t be returned to you.

Typical Wash Heights building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice block, overall nice neighbors, package cage.
Cons:
Not the most noise-insulated building. I can hear my neighbors tv below me which means they can probably hear mine. Building is no stranger to package theft. Takes a long time for management to respond to urgent maintenance issues. Slowest elevator on the planet. Only one elevator for 60 plus units/tenants.
Advice to owner:
Invest in better security, update building entrance to a fob system.
