The super was actually great the landlord and property manager were soulless crooks. Actually the super definitely lied on all the leaks I originally had.
Cons:
I’ll try to keep this short but it was terrifying especially doing this with my toddler at the time.
-1st floor apt but it Leaked when it rained, yes from the roof all the way to my closet
- Every snow fall it had to be shoveled from the roof which of course slammed against my 1st floor apt window. - one rainy day firefighters are on the roof stating it was “moving like Jello” ( i wish I was joking) - same day apt flooded water in outlet almost sparked fire. Had to vacate for 7 months!!
- of course they found led paint in apt had to get everyone checked especially my daughter which was 2 at the time. - Debris fell in my eye when my ceiling were collapsing causing me to have an infection(agonizing pain) - This was covered by local news and had a random politician in my house who did absolutely nothing to help but show face btw
- Month 5 property manager tried to make me sign new lease on 5th floor apt with similar issues but sneaked in something stating that I owed the last 5 months of rent of which I didn’t live there, I knows something was up when she visited my workplace to try to pressure me to signing.
- Fast forward to court date they still wanted back rent during renovations which I couldn’t live there, judge laughed at them and assured they did right.
- Thank you for coming to my Ted talk don’t ever rent here please!
Advice to owner:
Worst experience of my life as a young father going through this was hell. You’re definitely lucky this didn’t go through more litigation, I hope this building gets the work it needs for the tenants sake that can’t afford to move out.
