this building is the one they show tours in so generally pretty nice outdoor park space and community

elevator out of commission for multiple weeks on end paper thin walls, can hear upstairs neighbors very easily

pretty good all around

Pros

the building is warm, maybe too warm but you have AC. the apartments are well fitted and stylish and things are pretty well kept.

Are the thin walls a deal breaker? How bad are we talking?

Absolute deal breaker unless you just plan on contributing to all the noise and won't hear others. I can hear my neighbors above/below/next to me. Watching TV, talking, walking, going to the bathroom, etc. We normally blast the volume of our TV to drown out the noise. Also, I've learned over the years that everyone can hear your conversations inside the apartment from the hallway of your floor. We have to remind each other to speak softly when having certain conversations in case someone is outside in the hallways.

I don't think the walls are thin (they're solid brick). We have a very loud neighbor who has a kid that *loves to scream* but it's not often enough that it's a major nuisance. I think generally it's quiet enough that it doesn't cause major disturbances. Overall, this is a very nice place to live.
