Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 5 Stuyvesant Oval praise its central location near the subway and green spaces, making it ideal for families and those seeking a community feel. Apartments are spacious and affordable, often rent-controlled with utilities included. The building is well-managed, clean, with responsive staff and good pest control. However, soundproofing issues are common, with noise from neighbors and nearby cafes sometimes disruptive. Heating and occasional water pressure issues have been noted but are generally addressed promptly. Some residents find the exterior unappealing and neighbors occasionally odd, yet overall, it's considered a solid, convenient option with a safe, communal atmosphere.

It’s that little village feel in the east village

Pros:
Amazingly centrally located, right on the subway, quiet and very large apartment for NYC; rent controlled and reasonably priced. Had communal feeling and especially great for young families. Surrounded by a lot of green.
Cons:
Building rather unappealing from the outside, some neighbors are oddballs, water issues for a few hours every few months (though well communicated and handled)
Advice to owner:
More responsiveness around winter tempartures issues and better long term handling of the water pressure issues
