Management is a Slumlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment size, proximity to public transportation and necessary stores.
Cons:
Vermin (mice, cockroaches, silverfish), constant leaks and water damage, lack of responsiveness to fix repairs, and unethical business practices (allegedly lying about lead paint disclosure forms, breaching quiet enjoyment and habitability by performing renovations at odd hours and damaging my apartment in the process). On multiple occasions I have taken off from work to have repairs made and the super either assessed the situation and never came back or just never came. Don't know how you expect me to pay rent if I lose my job because ownership and the super keep jerking me around and putting my livelihood in jeopardy.
Advice to owner:
I've heard great reviews of this company when it comes to properties located in more affluent areas. Treat all tenants with that same care and concern. Maybe some owners of this company should stay in these poorly tended to buildings and see if you can work and feel comfortable with cockroaches constantly getting into the apartment, having a super say he's going to fix something but never comes back, waiting months for a repair, being unable to get in touch with a property manager because the automated system is set up to send people to voice-mail or your office hours are inconvenient.
