Not bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Entrance and lobby are beautiful. Depending on where your apartment is, there are beautiful views where you can see the Whitestone bridge in the distance.
Cons:
When you request a repair, they aren’t too quick to act on it.

Don’t Live here unless you really have no other choice
Former Tenant
Pros:
Heat, and A/C work fine almost always.
Cons:
The building is slow to make repairs in the units and they fix to the bare minimum. I have an issue with the wiring of the light fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom. Once you fix the bathroom fixtures they work for a few months, then it shorts out. Now I’m having the same problem in my kitchen. They came to look at it and they said they don’t have any of the parts to fix it. So I’m left cooking in the dark. We also had a huge problem with the refuse room. The people that live in this building must’ve been raised by wolves. They come with their pots of food and dump everything out on the floor of the refuse room or don’t throw their trash down the chute. The whole room would be filled with trash for days and no one would come to clean it. I would go downstairs to the management’s office and show them pictures of the current state the refuse room is in, and they would say they’re going to send someone to clean it and it would still look like that the next day. It was so bad to the point that the entire floor smelled like a garbage dump. I was also seeing more roaches hanging around the refuse room because of how disgusting it was. This past month they hired new staff and for the most part things have been much cleaner than before. Lets see how long that lasts. This building also has a problem with retaining employees. The building has only been around for 5 years and we’ve already had 4 different Superintendents! So by the time you get around to reading this review, the building might already have a new Super. Lets talk about noise. I have a crazy neighbor that likes to blast music so loud (no lie, my walls shake) at random hours of the night and early morning. I’ve let management know about this for the past 5 years, and they’ve done absolutely nothing to them. They speak with them about the noise levels but they still carries on same as before. They have gotten much better at not playing music at random hours of the early morning but honestly I just think it’s because of the pandemic. Once it dies down, they’re gonna start inviting their homies over to party and once again my walls will begin to shake. My unit faces Sheridan Blvd. and right across the street is Starlight Park that was recently renovated to include a small seating plaza. This was the worst idea anyone could’ve thought up because now it’s the go to spot for large loud parties that last well into the early hours of the morning. We’ve contacted the 43rd precinct to increase patrols around the park in the later hours of the night to prevent the amplified noise. It has helped but it has not stopped it from happening. Last year, the loud parties happened 7 days a week during the warmers months; this year I’d say it’s happening maybe 3 times a week with the majority of the loud parties happening on the weekends. It’s still very disruptive if you need to go to work early the next morning but J Balvin isn’t letting you sleep. The 43rd precincts response to 311 noise complaints for the park varies. Sometimes they come right away, sometimes they close the complaint out and no one shows up to tell these people to go home (by the way, this park closes at 1am) so we’re left having to call 911 but that response also varies because sometimes the 911 operators just transfer you to 311 instead. So if you value your sleep and want to live in this building, do not take an apartment facing the park. You will literally be paying rent to not be able to sleep peacefully throughout the night between the loud music, the ATV’s, and dirt bikes popping wheelies outside your bedroom window. The building has a laundry room on the first floor. It has I believe 6 washing machines, (1 machine is for large loads), and 7 dryers (1 dryer is for large loads). At least 2 washers never work and for the most part it’s a coin toss if the dryers will actually heat up to dry your clothes. You will spend more money re-washing and re-drying your clothes than just going to a laundromat outside of the building. Save your time (you will end up spending 2-4hours re-washing and re-drying clothes because the machines are garbage) and your money and just wash your clothes somewhere else. The laundry room hours are also not friendly as it opens too late in the day 10am-10pm. I’m wondering why laundry hours are even necessary since it requires a fob key to enter the laundry room. Also the door automatically locks at 10pm so if you start washing late, you cannot leave the laundry room after 10pm or risk being locked out and your clothes will be trapped in the laundry room until 10am the next day. Also beware with the laundry carts cuz the people in this building use them as luggage carts to take their groceries out of their cars or to transport their large bags of garbage from their apartments to the refuse room 🤮.
Advice to owner:
Cleanliness is important. Maintaining units is important. Peaceful living is important which means you have to enforce your own rules.
