Building with great potential but management could not care less
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors were nice
Cons:
Packages stolen constantly and anything left outside of door including rain boots. Even had mail stolen

Home of Rat Burrows
Former Tenant
Pros:
The Very Few Longtime tenants who have remained here (since this was a beautiful building under the owner's in 1998). I can knock on their door and still ask to borrow sugar, yeah. 2 short blocks from Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Garden and Prospect Park, subways.
Cons:
One super for 5 buildings, 9-5 No elevator (4floors) No laundry room Dirty stairs and halls Packages are stolen, no security cameras Rats play on front grass Many, many rat burrows Additional rats are out after dark, before sunrise Super doesn't respond to texts or phone calls unless you email management afterwards
Advice to owner:
Hire a professional cleaning company to get started!

Not cleaned/maintained, packages get stolen, but people look out for each other
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's generally quiet, and the neighbors are kind and considerate. The street is beautiful and lined with tall, old trees, and the neighborhood is great. Easy access to the subway, a short walk to Prospect Park, and walking distance to multiple Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Cons:
Packages are stolen on a daily basis. The indoor and outdoor common areas aren't cleaned or maintained. Many apartments have safety hazards with their electricity (flickering lights, regular blown fuses, etc). Rat problem around the trash cans, and not enough cans for the number of units. Unresponsive super and landlord.
Advice to owner:
Take action on package theft; clean and maintain the common areas regularly (indoor and outdoor); fix electricity issues for tenant safety

management is unresponsive, neighbors are nice, but there's a package thief
Former Tenant
Pros:
great and beautiful neighborhood, quiet street, close to restaurants, farmer's market, nice neighbors
Cons:
mouse problem, package thief, ghost landlord, super left and we never received any communication, lobby and stairways are barely cleaned
Advice to owner:
actually pick up the phone and respond to certified mail

Advice to owner:

Management sucks
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's a great location, which has nothing to do with the management.
Cons:
This building is not well maintained. The garbage overflows and attracts rats, the heat is barely turned on, and the common spaces are rarely cleaned - if we are lucky we get a mop and a sweep of the lobby once or twice a month. If you call to complain about anything, the management generally doesn't answer the phone. If they do, they gaslight you and tell you no one else has complained about the problem or that it's not their fault, what do you expect them to do?
Advice to owner:
Get a live in super to maintain the building. Fix the rusty decrepit fire escapes. Clean the common areas more than once a week. Install a new lock on the front door and video cameras to monitor against package theft. Fix all the chipped paint that is everywhere. Turn the heat up so that it isn't 69 degrees when we wake up in the morning. Finish painting the common areas, instead of just putting a coat of primer on everything and calling it a day.

Unit: love! Building: needs work.
Former Tenant
Pros:
My neighbors are wonderful, and are lovely allies. I’ve never had a noise problem, even with non soundproof walls. My unit has been my home for over 10 years, and it is a generously sized one bedroom. The natural light is beautiful, the ceilings are high, the water pressure is great. The location can’t be beat.
Cons:
Among other things: We have an external rat problem in our trash area. The lobby and stairwells need a THOROUGH cleaning. We have a terrible problem with packages being stolen. Our buzzers break constantly. Sometimes the water comes out of the faucet brown. It’s hard to get in contact with our super when we need repairs.
Advice to owner:
Everyone has the right to live in a clean and safe building. Our basic requests should never be ignored, overlooked, or dismissed.
