Owners very unhelpful
Former Tenant
Pros:
Unit was decently priced, had some newer appliances
Cons:
Bed bug problem immediately upon moving in that was a direct result of slum lord behavior of the landlord. There was a lower income family living in a rent stabilized unit one floor below me who told me that the landlord had been doing work in their apartment, but had left a big hole in their floor and never covered it up. As a result the family was dealing with horrible infestations of bed bugs, roaches, and mice, which spread to other parts of the building including my apartment. I assume this was to force the family out in order to renovate their unit and rent out at a higher price.
Advice to owner:
Treat tenants like human beings

Pros:
The neighbors are so great! The security of the building is good and the area is amazing.
Cons:
You can hear everything! Want to know what your neighbor three floors away is doing? The walls are so thin you don’t have to go ask! You can hear it from the comfort of your bedroom. And to my knowledge none of the common areas have actual windows that get light, they just face other windows. Don’t live here unless you want a vitamin D deficiency and roaches.
Advice to owner:
Replace the batteries in the hallway smoke detector— it’s been beeping consistently for like 2 months. Also respond to your residents’ emails? The whole time I was living there I never met a landlord or property owner, it was super shady. The whole place seems like it’s held up by paper mache and the hopes of shifty brokers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re better off sleeping on the train
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s close to Fat Doughnut
Cons:
The owners and management are the WORST I’ve had in the city, cut off our hot water and blamed us. Didn’t fix a leak we had for MONTHS, not even when it became super moldy.
Advice to owner:
Find a new profession, you people are horrible building managers
