building management doesn't care about you
Former Tenant
Pros:
clean, recently renovated, tree lined street, laundry in the basement (but costs an arm and a leg)
Cons:
when i had a leak in my apartment, no one gave a damn. it took months of nonstop complaining to get anyone to take a look at it, and it leaked profusely every time it rained. on top of being negligent, they increased our rent and seemed confused as to why we wanted to move out. plus sound travels in an extreme way and the whole building feels like a college dorm. super frustrating experience overall and i can't be more relieved to be GONE. oh, and they still haven't returned my security deposit!
Advice to owner:
be more responsive to your tenants! terrible company that couldn't care less.

Terrible management company
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lovely tree lined street, quiet, great sage colored walls
Cons:
The management company is awful. They do not handle building issues. Laundry did not work for an entire year and they never fixed it or decreased rent. The walls of the building are the thinnest I’ve ever experienced. You can hear your neighbor’s conversations word for word. Overpriced and not as great as it seems. *EDIT* they fixed the laundry after a year and a half only to increase the price to $10 for a full cycle ($5 for a wash, $5 for a dry) and the machines are small. There is also an ant problem now that their resolution is giving you a can of raid. The building continues to decline in quality. It’s rough.
Advice to owner:
Just do your job. You continue to increase rent year after year with the quality steadily declining. Nothing is improving, so why are we paying more? The laundry situation feels like a direct slap to the face.

Glad Bedly is Dead
Former Tenant
Pros:
It had been renovated recently and was close to the subway (J Line) and other amenities, like the laundromat and decent delis. The street was tree lined and had pretty brownstones.
Cons:
Terrible management by Bedly. The ceiling leaked from Thanksgiving 2017 to President’s Day 2018 and refused to fix it properly. The management company would enter the apartment whenever the felt like it. They created a room with a lock that contained the only fire escape. It was far too expensive for what it was.
Advice to owner:
Well since you’ve gone bust I’m going to assume you wouldn’t have taken much advice.

Not worth it.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice tree lined street, nice neighbors. Not too shabby of an apt. Truly not a 2 bedroom, no closet space.
Cons:
The owner responsiveness is not great. I moved into a completely filthy, unpainted apartment. When I mean filthy I mean it was disgusting. I had to raise hell to get them to come and clean up and paint the space which they found so annoying that I expected a clean apartment to move into. The laundry room did not work and the landlord said it was “our” problem to fix when it was clearly listed and an amenity they offered. They raised the rent by a ridiculous amount once my lease was up. BYE.
Advice to owner:
Don’t be a slum lord.

Bad Management, nice enough building
Former Tenant
Pros:
- central ac and heating that's reliable - shared roof access
Cons:
- Management will not respond to your issues or fix them in a timely manner. They are also very very sexist and you will need a man to talk to them. -There was a downstairs neighbor who claimed he could always hear us (at hours we weren't home). This resulted in him bringing a cinderblock to our door and banging on it yelling at us. Management didn't do anything and actually considered his noise complaint against us. - Raised our rent 100$ at the middle of the pandemic and would not provide an explanation as to why. - The ceiling leaked for 3 months before they even tried to fix it. - When we moved in, the previous tenants had abandoned the space with all the furniture there. Management didn't care and got mad at us when we asked them for a partial refund for our first month since they had violated our lease agreement.
Advice to owner:
Fix your entire operation.

Great until I moved out
Former Tenant
Pros:
This building was quiet and neighbors were considerate for the most part. There is central AC and heat.
Cons:
The shared roof was never maintained or cleaned. The landlord took $400 out of my security deposit for “painting holes in the wall” but was never clear what holes. And never said I couldn’t nail into the wall.
