Pros:
Land lord lives upstairs at the same building.
Cons:
Landlord’s dog walks and pees front of the door.
Right next building is a place to feed homelesses. Can you imagine how noice and stinky they are? You do not need alarm clock. You will be woken up with noises of homeless’ music and marijuana smells every morning.
And You have to handle with mice.
When we moved in - the backyard had awful condition. When we moved out - backyard had the same condition (we did not use it). But landlord charged us - he hired someone to clean it up and charged us more, because he gave tips to cleaners. We called 311. He is not allowed to take money for tips from our deposit. But he does not give a shit. The same with furniture. When we moved in- they had some furniture inside (couch, sofa etc). When we moved out he threw it away and charged us.
Bye-bye deposit! We did not damaged his house. But we lost deposit.
