Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for 54 Clarkson Avenue highlights a mixed experience. Positives include a clean building with well-maintained common areas such as the gym and roof, friendly neighbors, and convenient location near transit. Apartments offer ample storage, decent appliances, and in-unit laundry. However, many renters report issues with unresponsive and absent management, frequent package thefts, poor heating and insulation leading to uncomfortable temperatures, elevator malfunctions, and occasional pest problems. Communication lapses regarding address changes and restricted lounge access also frustrate residents. While some approve of recent management improvements, concerns about safety, noise, and value remain, suggesting careful consideration before renting here.

Good apartment, decent management, okay super

Pros

Location is perfect, building is clean with nice appliances. Neighbors are friendly. Safe area.

Cons

People steal packages from the package room here and super did mostly nothing - did not even notify us it had happened. Super lives in the building but can be unresponsive. I haven’t had any major urgent issues, but for the price of living here, a response would be great. If I could afford the 1 bedroom, I would stay. Super also banned us from using the lounge area because someone else broke in and broke the tv. Mgmt recently changed and he’s been doing better.

Advice to the owners

Let us use the lounge area again. Notify tenants when the package room is broken into and report to the police.

Mail Issues and Cold

Pros

Clean, decent common facilities

Cons

Terrible insulation which means high electric bills, fruit fly problems, elevator issues, stolen packages, not many good grocery stores nearby, far from the city. They changed the apt numbers over a year ago and didn’t tell the postal service so I still have issues getting mail

I saw on HPD that a unit ion the 3rd had bed bugs? Was wondering if this was a building issue?
