Decent building in a great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, decent upkeep, large apartments
Cons:
Cigarette smoke smell in hallways, confusing mail system (there’s only three units, get the mailboxes sorted out, it can’t be that hard)

Racist landlord, illegal bedrooms
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location ONLY. Cheap because it’s an illegal bedroom situation.
Cons:
Crack den on third floor the entire year I lived there, no heat control, top floor tenants are unbelievably rude and loud.
Advice to owner:
Stop being racist

Cheap for a reason
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, proximity to subway.
Cons:
Building was cool for a while when the neighbors were friendly. When all the cool people left you realized what you were suffering through.
1) it smells. You’ll smell everything everyone is cooking, smoking, not throwing out. All the apartments share this crazy open shaft window, so we don’t even have a real wall between us and any one else.
2) there really was a crack den on the third floor. The people living there would get hostile at other tenants, but landlord was uninterested in helping.
3) there’s also a 6’5 drug dealer on the top floor. I hear he doesn’t actually live there, just doing the whole “my girlfriend lives here so now I’m 4th roommate” thing. It’s uneasy, since I’ve heard him have crazy screaming tantrums.
4) like the other reviewer says, these are illegal setups, and that’s why the price is cheap. It’s doable for some people, but if the landlord isn’t interested in following the law, he’s also not interested in keeping you safe, or warm, or SAFE.
