Overworked super
Former Tenant
Pros:
Washer and dryer in unit
Cons:
The super was overworked and underpaid. He had buildings in Harlem and Manhattan. Asking them to make necessary repairs (like a leaky room or mice infestation) always made me feel guilty
Advice to owner:
Pay more supers, pay exterminators

Management company is the worst
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great and there's a lot of space, especially in the kitchen.
Cons:
1) Management company is not responsive, failed to return my security deposit, and it took about 4 complaints to get the leaky roof (that flooded my apartment) fixed. 2) Building is only legally permitted for three occupants, but they had four. That meant that the utility lines were all out of whack and the basement tenant (the illegal unit) wouldn't let any utility companies in to assess. 3) The front stairs to the building are cracked and likely have foundation issues and after years of complaints, only are now being fixed because of DOB violations.
Advice to owner:
Comply with Housing Stability And Tenant Protections Act of 2019 and return security deposits! Legally modify certificate of occupancy to reflect current units.

Please don’t live here - the location isn’t worth the headache.
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s close a block from the train and prime bedstuy/Clinton hill line
Cons:
Where to begin.... Our experience with both the management company and the omnipotent landlord was nothing short of a disaster. In the short time that we lived in that building, I was locked in my bedroom because of a poorly constructed door frame (i literally had to break the door down to get out), I had a whole firefighter ladder knocking on my door because the building was breaking fire code with a locked fire escape roof hatch, and don’t even get me started on the long list of repairs and removals we requested that were NEVER fulfilled. We painted the walls upon move in - they were covered in dirty handprints and crayon - because management to do anything. They never reimbursed us for the 4 gallons of paint that they’re neglected walls absorbed.
There are TWO illegal apartments in the basement. The super is overworked and blamed for everything - even though he is kind hardworking guy who rides his bike all the way from the Bronx.
On top of all this, we learned we had been paying more than our fair share of utilities- for a year- because of a shared meter. I have also received numerous calls from National Grid about the open gas line, to the point where I am concerned about the other tenets in the building.
The management company refuses to “process” our security deposit even 2 months after our move out. After countless attempts to reach them, it seems that they have blocked our contact 🙃 don’t live here.
Oh and for any unfortunate future tenants, their office is located at 543 Bedford ave. apt 295 (it took calling a tenets rights hotline to finally get that info.)
Advice to owner:
Stop scamming your tenets, hire more supers, and be a decent human.
