I don’t recommend - terrible land (slum) lords
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. Lots of natural light in the living room and kitchen.
Cons:
Constant mouse droppings, deteriorated common space, radiator constantly breaks, a homeless man is always in the front stoop, constant leaks in the ceiling that ended up ruining my mattress and sheets (the ceiling in my bedroom eventually collapsed), confrontational, and unresponsive landlord, old building that has not been taken care of, many deducts from our security deposit that we now have to go to court for to get it back. Simply would not recommend living here due to the landlords and the many draw backs of the old building. They are scammers and very unorganized.
Advice to owner:
Make sure the common space is repaired.

I wouldn’t do it!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, close to the train.
Cons:
Land people will attempt to cheat you out of your deposit (example - cleaning fee for dust on the ceiling fan) If you move in, I urge you to get everything in writing (including emails or text follow up post phone calls), and when they inevitably to deduct from your deposit, request receipts.

do not live here!!! beware owners
Former Tenant
Pros:
location was nice
Cons:
owners are crazy, they are terrible at communicating and will blame tenants for their mishaps. not accommodating, have lots of apartment violations in their building, the apartment was actively falling apart, the walls are so thin there is no privacy, the owners will not fix anything that is broken unless it benefits them (ie before they show the apartment to the next unlucky tenants who get swayed by the location).

Great location, terrible landlords
Former Tenant
Pros:
Steps from the L train. The tenants in the building are great.
Cons:
The landlords—and I don’t say this lightly—are truly nightmares. This is the only building they own (which they inherited), and they’re its toxic helicopter parent. There’s a shared backyard that they don’t let you use. They watch security cameras around your apartment constantly They send constant threatening emails to you. They live 3 days of the week in the back of the building. They don’t clean up any of the common spaces and leave trash everywhere. They are so frustratingly particular that they ruin what could be an amazing apartment building. They support Blue Lives Matter. The cops call them “psycho.” Business owners call them “scumbags.” They make every day at the apartment a nightmare.
Advice to owner:
Please operate like a normal landlord

Do yourself a favor and stay away
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to Bedford L train
Cons:
Over several years living in this building I could have written a book with every bad experience I had with these landlords. A few examples: mice, cockroaches, refusal to turn on the building heat until December (the city mandates October 15 for heat!), sewage water flooding the basement for days, leaking ceiling every time in rained and the excuse that fixing the roof wasn’t in budget, etc. The icing on the cake was their illegal attempt to keep our security deposit after we moved out, which we had to take legal action to get back.

Bedford’s Best… ?
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is prime; love the neighborhood and its proximity to transportation.
Cons:
The landlords are truly seeking every possible avenue to make your living in their building as inconvenient as possible. Everything must be done on their terms, with little to no flexibility to the lives of the tenants that occupy their building. If new management was in place, this would be an excellent living situation.
Advice to owner:
Change your train of thought and your general emotion.
