Oh gosh where do I even begin. The landlord will literally never reply to you unless you threaten to sue him and even then he still won’t actually send anyone out. We had a massive leak that would pour water into our apartment everyday for almost 5 months (oh and it still does dump water into the apartment occasionally) and the part of the ceiling even fell out because there was so much water damage. Be prepared for constant dripping sounds because there is quite literally always a leak somewhere in the apartment that will never get fixed. The landlord’s “super” called me and told me he saw the videos of the leak and even he said it was like Chinese water torture and told me he’d come fix it just to never actually fix it. We had multiple RAT encounters inside our apartment unit and literally saw the massive rats in our apartment with our own eyes. Our whole ceiling behind the vent in the kitchen was open and exposed allowing rats to come into the apartment as they pleased, as what the exterminator I had to hire on my own referred to it as, “a rat highway”. There are still open holes in both bedrooms that have never been sealed so be warned! There was never a month where something didn’t go wrong with the apartment. The buzzer to get into the building will stop working often too. Packages have been stolen. And my favorite, a carbon monoxide leak!! Which was from our faulty heater system which had to be turned off so carbon monoxide wouldn’t leak and we had to go 9 days in winter without heat and the landlord didn’t even provide space heaters. We have documentation of everything. Oh and there’s a 15 person Airbnb (it is quite literally listed as an Airbnb for 15 people) on the first floor that’s always booked and incredibly loud thanks to our super thin walls, enjoy!!
Advice to owner:
You deserve to be in prison and have fat rats as your cellmates.
