Has the previous building issues been solved ever since management recently renovated the units and building? Do you enjoy living there? Or are the issues standard to loft living

Not much changed, most leaking issues have been resolved, but we still had water leaking in more rainy days through the outside walls and the ceiling close to the windows. They upgraded units to centralized heating and cooling in order to legalize building, but that at least doubled the electricity bills in best case scenario. No insulation makes this building very energy inefficient. There are ongoing issue with door lock as packages get constantly stolen. Freight elevator is not working and no one knows when it will be renovated.

Are there any cleanliness issues in building?

Floors are barely cleaned, maybe twice a year. Trash container overfilled all the time and trash then scatters in the street.

Very cool space, generally nice neighbors. Usually clean.

Cons

Hallways leak when it storms. Just an old building. Management try’s to take care of the issues that occur but it seems many occur.

Depends on apartment I guess, not sure witch unit you're referring to. In their defense, with new management at least they try fixing the leaks. But they could not solve our problem for two years, with thunderstorms we still get leaks. Definition of unlivable is quite vague in NY. I've seen crazy shit, this is not it. Its overpriced and undermaintained, but not unlivable.
