Decent place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rooftop access is nice to have. Located close to transportation and tons of shops/grocery stores
Cons:
Management isn’t always the easiest to work with. Lots of turnover in the office so you don’t have anyone you can consistently work with. Basement floods frequently and laundry machines aren’t always kept in good working order
Advice to owner:
None

527 Knickerbocker Ave
Former Tenant
Pros:
Common areas kept clean Fairly secure building with virtual doorman
Cons:
Flooding of basement - this happened 3 times in a two year tenure. The response of both building management and property management was not to my satisfaction.
Advice to owner:
To be more prepared for heavy rainfall in future, as not only basements become flooded as do laundry rooms and corridor in the basement.

Awful experience with management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Roof access, prompt maintenance response, clean
Cons:
First- fireworks are frequent in this neighborhood. Seemed probable they were lit off our roof on many occasions. I wish I had known this prior to moving in as I have PTSD and had a pretty awful time of it. 2nd- Went to renew and had an absolutely awful experience with all year management that led to us moving out. Poor communication and a reticence to work with us as good tenants led to an incredibly stressful situation for all. The rooms are far too small for the price in the neighborhood and it was ultimately not difficult to find better priced options for more space and amenities. Also, just Google all year management before you sign anything with them. They’ve got enough issues they’re not going to care about anyones concerns in 527.
Advice to owner:
We see the price you’re listing our old space as with the new concession... would it not have been easier to just work with us from the beginning??? We were quiet tenants who always paid on time. Your cold, unhelpful communications screwed all of us involved.
