Review Summary for 357 Linden Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 357 Linden Street highlight its friendly, warm neighbors and convenient Bushwick location with amenities like roof access and dog-friendliness. Tenants appreciate security cameras and generally good garbage management. However, concerns include thin walls leading to noise issues, inconsistent owner responsiveness, and an unreliable superintendent based out of the Bronx. Some renters noted issues with cleanliness, package theft, and pet-related problems such as dog urine in hallways. While the building is suitable for singles or couples, small apartment sizes and the aging infrastructure prompt calls for more attentive maintenance and improved management communication to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Upon our move-in date, the previous tenant had left EVERYTHING in their unit. We were stunned by this and as we had been renting a Uhaul by the hour, worried we’d have to fight the landlord about cleaning and cleaning it out. To our surprise, he corralled some people working for him and they had the spot cleaned out (it was still pretty crusty when we got in, NGL, but much cleaner than the previous person had left it) in about 2 hours.

Stetson, the man who maintained the building and garbage, was super diligent about his job and always friendly to the tenants.

There are security cameras all over the building.
Cons:
The walls are paper thin. You will always hear people entering or exiting the building, opening or closing their doors, watching their TV’s, listening to music, taking calls, being intimate, etc. On one occasion a neighbor down the hall from our unit sneezed, my partner yelled “bless you” and the neighbor shouted back “thank you!”.

If something is broken or in need of fixing, it was known throughout the building to try and take care of it yourself because the Super lived in the Bronx and working around his schedule was a nightmare. He was also a nice guy, but nice doesn’t fix cracks in the ceiling.
Advice to owner:
Take your tenants complaints about building issues more seriously. Your building is almost 100 years old and slapping up new hallways doesn’t indicate care for the actual units.

Pros:
• Great apartment if you’re single or if your have a partner
• At one point this building was super quiet
•Exposed brick
•Roof access
Cons:
•People steal packages
•Someone is running a dog daycare so there is always a lot of dogs!
•The man that comes here for pest control doesn’t have a number and he just comes when he wants to and knocks on your door early in the AM
•Dog piss on the floor
•the Wi-Fi loves to not work randomly
•A lot of notes on the door downstairs about people stealing or dogs peeing
Advice to owner:
•get a real super that knows what he’s doing and that is friendly!
•stop showing up randomly and ringing peoples doorbells than running away
•This building should be a one pet apartment
• have the guy clean the floors more often it’s dusty
